Lost Valley

Lost Valley is the name given to the area around Perdition, California. It isn’t really a valley, more of a series of connected dales between the large peaks of the Southern Sierra Nevada.

Summers and early fall in Lost Valley are generally very pleasant and wonderful for hiking, hunting, fishing and other outdoor activities. The tall sequoia, cedar, pine, juniper, aspen and oak forests are very beautiful and there is abundant wildlife, including white tail deer, black bears, cougars, raccoons, mountain sheep, wild donkeys, golden eagles, coyotes, pronghorn antelope, rattlesnakes and various birds, rabbits, rodents and other smaller animals.

Melody Ranch is at the lower end of Lost Valley, Perdition near the center, Skytrain Commune along the eastern extension of Hiway 192 and the Hole in the Sky Lodge on a northern branch road leading up to Mount Gonsalvo.
